Terry Zavitz, B.Mus.A., CFP, CLU, CHS, EPC, GBA, TEP, CEA, is president and founder of Zavitz Insurance & Wealth. Protecting families is the main reason Terry loves insurance. After 37 years in the business, Terry knows that disability and life insurance can make all the difference in the financial viability of a family.
Her practice encompasses life and group insurance, but her true passion and expertise is in the area of Living Benefits. Zavitz Insurance & Wealth is one of the larger independent disability insurance providers in Canada.
Terry gives countless hours of her time to the community and within her industry. She is on the board for Fanshawe College, was chair of the Women’s Healthcare Campaign with London Health Sciences Centre, and plays an active role in many associations, such as Advocis and the Conference of Advanced Life Underwriters (CALU).
Past activities include her roles as co-chair of the Women of Excellence Gala through the YMCA of London, member of the Nominations and Governance Committee with CALU, chair of the board of Advocis as well as the London Health Sciences Foundation, member of the board for London Health Sciences Centre, and committee member at St. Joseph’s Health Care, Merrymount, Orchestra London, and various other local organizations.
Terry is the recipient of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, the YMCA Women of Excellence Award for Business and Trade, the Hopwood Award, the Laudable Londoner Award for community service, the J.G Taylor Award for contribution to the industry, and recipient of an honourary diploma from Fanshawe College.
In 2014, Terry was inducted into the London Business Hall of Fame, honouring her dedication to her industry and community and named as one of the Top 50 Women of Influence in Canada’s Life Insurance Industry in The Insurance & Investment Journal.
